Meridian Organics is located 6.6 Km West of Rockglen on Highway 2. Our transition into organic farming started in 2000, by 2002 we were certified by
OCIA. We use sustainable farming practices. This includes crop rotations on all the fields. The rotation is a three year cycle: cereal, legume, legume plowdown. We have eliminated black fallow and opt for green manures to control weeds and improve the soil. "Healthy soil makes healthy plants." Our cattle were certifed in 2005. We have native pasture close to the farmsite which doubles as a natural shelter for the cattle.
